But how’s it working with day-to-day? The Bad Where’s Facetime? The lid of the Air is kept attached to the folio section with two stretchy loops on each corner of the display. The bottom is secured by sliding it into a sheath that overlays the bottom third of the keyboard section of the Air, with a square for the trackpad cut out. The SENA Case fits my 11-inch MacBook Air well. If you have a SENA case, chances are you can leave it at home. It’s like a huge wallet, with four credit-card slots, one slot big enough for an ID, and another couple of pockets big enough for stray documents, envelopes, papers and so-on. The inside is similarly nice: a combination of leather and suede.Ī folio-style case, the SENA is meant to operate not just as a protective case, but as a folder in which you store all the other documents you might need for your business life. This isn’t just cheap leather: it’s the kind of leather that feels supple from the first moment you touch it. If you don't care about this so much, then I think you'll be very pleased with this product, particularly when compared with other leather cases.SENA’s cases are beautifully constructed out of sumptuous, full-grain leather, and even from first blush, the MacBook Air case we tested looked, smelled and felt great. I recommend that anyone considering this case think about how important the auto on/off feature is to you before buying it, as the risk of it not working seems fairly high. So I decided to return it and buy another directly from Sena, since they will provide direct warranty support if this problem occurs again. ![]() But if I were to exchnage it with Amazon's reseller, the chances of getting another defective case seems to be reasonably high based on the other reviews here. The case itself is lovely: it's very thin, made of high quality leather, and just what I wanted. I contacted Sena's customer service department, and the very polite agent told me that they could not help me under their warranty if the case was purchased through an Amazon reseller (this was the case here). I could understand this eight or nine months ago, but now? Disappointing. If I remove the iPad from the case and line up the cover's magnet with the iPad's sensor, I can make it go on and off by rotating the entire case until it works, making it pretty clear that the shut-off magnet's polarity in the cover is not properly aligned. Still.ĭespite the Amazon description (as well as the actual packaging's) that this case is compatible with the iPad 3, the magnet used to activate and deactivate the iPad is not correctly oriented in the front cover. I ordered this very nice case about ten months after the iPad 3 was introduced, figuring that by now all issues relating to the auto on/off function that many people experienced with numerous iPad 2 cases would be well behind us. So far, had it about a month and it's fine. If the leather tab fails or holds up after a few months, I will update this review accordingly. It's pricey, but so was the leather smart cover from Apple, and that was only a very thin leather face protector. With the other covers, I always wanted more and would switch them out every few days.this cover has not come off since I put it on. This is the only thing preventing me from giving a full five stars. I'm not sure if this is just my cover, or they are all like that. Nonetheless, the stitching on it is strong, so I suspect that it will. I expected a harder piece of leather here, and time will tell if this holds up. While in either position, the iPad is quite sturdy, the tab that the cover slips into feels too thin, and is easily bendable. It has a notch in the rear to accommodate two viewing angles. It's very slim, compared to the Splash and Maroo covers I have tried. The magnetic feature works as intended, waking or putting my iPad to sleep upon opening or closing the cover. ![]() The leather is top notch quality and the fit is perfect. I ordered it at once, and when it arrived, I was not disappointed. It had the magnetic wake/unlock feature, and was extremely slim as well. It was all leather which I wanted, and came in a fire red color, also what I wanted. ![]() I scoured the reviews online, and finally saw this Sena case. They were actually really good, though they felt and looked cheap. I bought a Splash Raindrop, Maroo, and tried a few of the Splash cases. I bought a Smart Cover at first, but as cool as the wake/sleep feature was, the limited protection of it leaving the back unprotected left me wanting more. Upon buying my new iPad, I was faced with the decision of finding protection for it.
